The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) Board has announced the immediate suspension of its Director General, Mr. Victor Nyasulu. This decision follows the discovery of 61 containers filled with assorted medicines and medical supplies at a private depot in the Makeni area of Lusaka.
Dr. Lisulo Walubita, Acting Board Chairperson, expressed the board’s deep regret over the incident, emphasizing that such occurrences undermine the integrity and trust placed in ZAMMSA. “The ZAMMSA board extremely regrets the occurrence of this incident,” Dr. Walubita stated.
Despite this setback, Dr. Walubita assured the public that ZAMMSA’s operations and the servicing of all public health facilities will continue uninterrupted. The board is committed to maintaining the agency’s role in ensuring the availability of essential medicines and supplies across the country.
The suspension of Mr. Nyasulu underscores ZAMMSA’s dedication to accountability and transparency within its operations. The board is expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the storage of the medicines and medical supplies in a private depot.
The public and health sector stakeholders will be closely monitoring the situation as ZAMMSA works to uphold its mandate and restore confidence in its operations.

Stop blaming PF. If you flag off a hydro power station you dont mention they started it. Your 10 years is a guise to hoodwink the gullible among us that during the entire term of UPND we should overlook HH’s corruption because it is PF’s. We are not that naive
The PF excuse is a lame duck and a cheap reference point. Hakainde is lamentably failing because for him PF is the ultimate. He can’t talk past PF. And so his praise singers who are caught in the same web of inferiority complex. Hakainde has failed on every single point of action. The only tangeable success he has made is to complete projects that were left by PF at 95%+ before completion eg Mulungushi conference centre, Kafue lower hydro power station just to name a few.
Indeed, enough of suspensions, demotions and/or transfers.
Criminal behaviour should be punished the same way, no matter whom, white collar or otherwise, trial and jail time, this CEO deserves to pay dearly…
Cry my beloved Zambia…..at the expense of Zambian’s health somebody decides to divert 61 containers full of medicine and other medical supplies. This is indeed inhuman. And to me this explains why all clinics and hospitals in Zambia dont have any medicines. essential medicines like malaria medicnes, panados, including siringes and niddles etc. we have to find means and buy them ourselves. And these medical personnel have no shame prescribing every medicine and send people to buy themselves.
Honestly a clinic failing to even provide pain killers.
My conclusion; We need justice to every crime.
Just privatise the hospitals and put every citizen on an insurance scheme Obamacare style.

It reminds me of Sata being found with a car from the Red Brick Kamucheka Building and being locked up by Levy for stealing public property. The offence was unbailable.

Corruption is part your average Zambian DNA.
Most Zambians and other Africans natural instinct is to steal, lie, cheat and this ultimately leads to corruption.
This is the reason that your countries are dirt poor.
President Hichilema is trying but he has an uphill task.
